Write a ReviewIt Still Felt Like My Story
My biggest concern was that someone else would write something that sounded impressive but didn't actually feel like me. I provided plenty of background about my experiences and goals, and the final version still felt personal. It gave my application a much more polished presentation without losing my story.
Good for a Career Application
I needed a personal statement for a job application rather than university, so I wasn't sure whether the service would suit what I needed. The final statement focused on my experience and career goals without sounding like a generic cover letter. It worked well for the role I was applying for.
Much Better Than My Original Draft
I'd written my own statement and thought it was okay, but reading the professionally edited version made me realise how repetitive mine was. The revised version kept the important points but presented them much more clearly. It was a worthwhile improvement.
Didn't Get It Right First Time
The first draft focused more on my academic background than I wanted and didn't say enough about my practical experience. I wasn't completely happy with it initially. After some feedback, the statement was adjusted and ended up being much closer to what I needed.
They Asked About My Goals
Instead of just rewriting the information I'd provided, they asked about where I wanted my career to go and why I'd chosen the course. Those questions helped bring out details I hadn't originally included. The finished statement felt much more focused.
I Needed It Quite Quickly
I left my application until later than I should have and needed the statement fairly quickly. The process was organised and I received the draft in time to review it before submitting. Definitely a lesson for me to start these things earlier next time.
Useful for a Scholarship Application
Writing about my achievements without making it sound like I was bragging was difficult. The statement managed to present my experience confidently while still keeping it personal. I was happy with the balance.
Helped Me Explain My Experience
I had relevant work and volunteering experience but wasn't sure how much of it belonged in my application. The writer helped turn those experiences into something more meaningful rather than just listing them. It made me realise I had more to talk about than I thought.
A Little Too Formal at First
The first draft was well written, but some of the wording didn't sound much like me. I sent back my comments and a few examples of how I normally write, and the revised version felt more natural. The extra revision was definitely worthwhile.
My University Statement Finally Made Sense
I had plenty of things I wanted to mention in my personal statement but couldn't work out how to connect them. The final version had a much clearer structure and actually sounded like I knew where I was heading. It made the application feel much more complete.
