We used First Home Improvements for new front and back doors and have been really pleased with the experience. Everything was explained clearly from the initial order through to the installation. Chris Cade fitted the doors and did a fantastic job. He was professional, efficient and made sure everything was cleaned up afterwards. The finished work is to a really high standard and we're very happy with it. I would definitely recommend the company based on our experience.

Really disappointed with the whole sales experience. The original quote was around £34k, then it was reduced to £17k, and apparently could come down to £13k if I paid a deposit there and then. It felt like a lot of pressure to make a decision immediately rather than giving me time to think it over.

Really pleased with the quality of the new windows and the installation. Rob Crick and Oliver Mills did a great job and were very professional throughout. They also handled my two dogs brilliantly, including my rather grumpy little one! Before leaving, Rob went through all the paperwork with me and explained how to use the windows and doors, including the safety features and different opening options. Very happy with both the products and the installation.

I've used First Home Improvements three times for work on my house, with the latest being replacement windows. I want to make it clear that I have no complaints about the actual products or the installers. The problem was the sales approach afterwards. I was told someone would visit to inspect and photograph the work and leave me a voucher for a possible future discount. During the visit, the representative started looking closely at my doors and pointing out various problems before asking what sort of replacement door I wanted. I explained that I wasn't looking to replace the doors and hadn't asked for a quote. The conversation then became increasingly uncomfortable, with someone from the office getting involved over the phone. It ended badly and I eventually asked the representative to leave. I've been happy enough with the products and installers, but after this experience I wouldn't want another sales visit at my home.

A representative came to give me a quote and ended up staying for nearly three hours. The initial quote was over £14,000, but there were repeated calls to his boss about reducing the price until it was eventually around half of the original amount. I felt very uncomfortable with the whole situation and felt under a lot of pressure to make a decision. Even after I made it clear that I wanted the visit to end, he continued to stay. In the end, I had to get my dad to come over before the situation was finally brought to an end. The entire experience left me very unhappy.

The door installation took longer than I expected, and unfortunately the door that was fitted wasn't the one I had originally selected. I also found the fitter a little rude when I asked him to take care around the house and avoid making a mess on the floors. Overall, the experience could have been handled much better.

I wasn't comfortable with the sales visit taking around two hours at 5pm. I felt there wasn't enough opportunity to go away and think about the decision for a couple of days, as everything seemed very rushed and there was a strong push to place the order. We were given an installation date, but unfortunately nobody turned up and we then had to wait another four days. When the fitters eventually arrived, they were good, friendly and efficient. The windows and doors look good now that everything is installed, so the actual installation team were a positive part of the experience.

The fitters themselves were very polite and friendly, and I'm pleased with the windows. Unfortunately, there was a problem with the back door because it was made the wrong way. A second door was sent out, but we didn't realise there was still an issue until after the fitter had left. The window section only opens on tilt rather than opening fully, and it also doesn't lock properly. After everything that has gone wrong, I'm disappointed and would like to know whether some compensation will be offered for the mistakes.

The windows supplied were not the specification I ordered, and unfortunately they have continued to leak even after months. I've tried contacting the company several times but haven't had any useful response. At this point, I've had to take the matter further and it is now going to court. The online chat hasn't been able to resolve the problem either.

The installation felt rushed and unfortunately the work wasn't completed to the standard I expected. We were given appointments to have the problems fixed, but the appointments weren't kept and we weren't even notified. Trying to get any help afterwards has also been extremely difficult. The customer service has been very disappointing and it feels like once the payment has been made, the level of attention drops considerably.

The products themselves are good and the staff I dealt with were excellent. Unfortunately, there was a problem caused by the scaffolding team. They damaged the roof of my shed/garage while carrying out their work, and now that the weather has changed I'm getting dampness coming through onto the roof lining. I'm still waiting for the issue to be sorted out, so at the moment I'm disappointed that this hasn't been resolved.
