The biggest change for us has been having the freedom to travel at our own pace. We’re not tied to check-in times or one particular destination. We can stay somewhere longer if we like it or move on when we’ve had enough, which has completely changed how we plan our trips.

I was initially worried that we’d only really enjoy having a campervan during warm weather. We’ve since taken it away during colder months and found it surprisingly cosy. You do have to prepare a little more, but it’s definitely not sitting unused all winter like I expected.

We originally planned to use the campervan for a couple of holidays each year, but we’ve ended up using it for spontaneous weekends too. There’s something nice about being able to decide on Friday afternoon that you want to get away and just go.

After using the van for a few trips, I’ve realised it’s the small design choices that make the biggest difference. Having things where you actually need them makes everyday use much less frustrating. It feels like someone has thought about how people will genuinely use the space.

I’ll be honest, it took me a little while to get used to driving and organising everything in a campervan. The first couple of trips involved a fair bit of figuring things out. Once we got into a routine though, it became much easier and now we really enjoy the freedom.

We bought ours with the idea of eventually doing a longer European trip. Before committing, we wanted something that would work for more than just occasional weekends. So far, the comfort and storage have given us confidence that we made the right choice for longer travelling.

We normally book accommodation whenever we go away, so having our own little setup was a completely different experience. We could stop somewhere for lunch, change our plans and just carry on. It made the journey itself feel like part of the holiday.

What I liked was that the van didn’t just look good in photos. The storage, kitchen area and general layout all made sense when we were actually using it. After a few trips, you really start to appreciate those little practical details.

I was expecting a campervan to feel a bit cramped, especially compared with staying in hotels. I was actually surprised by how comfortable the space felt once everything was set up. We spent a week travelling around the Lakes and never felt like we were constantly on top of each other.

We’d talked about getting a campervan for years but kept putting it off. Once we started looking at Leisuredrive, the practical layout really stood out to us. We’ve only done a few weekends so far, but it’s already made getting away feel much easier.
